How a Jewish Educational System Shape a Modern Child of America (Part I)

Renanim Preschool and Summer Camp is known to be a Preschool in Manhattan, New York that runs on Jewish-American education as fuel to our curriculum. What difference does promoting a Jewish type of education bring about in the development of a child?

In this blog, we will be thoroughly exploring how the Jewish education shapes up a future servant leader in our society. Here are they:

1. Making an impression

First impressions always last. This is applicable when we get to know a person for the first time or when we do an activity for the first time.

What we experience as children becomes a basis to what we consider comforting and safe. Being Jewish in a country dominated by Christian may erase the Jewish tradition we have been practicing for many generations. In order to instill these traditions to our children, we need to expose these practices earlier.

However, not all exposure can leave a positive mark on the child. Not all of us study child psychology after all.

Sometimes, it can become tiresome and traumatic leaving them scarred for life. Enrolling them in a preschool that practices Jewish traditions positively introduces these little learners.

The most appropriate time to teach children complex skills is during the time where their brains are developing. It has been discovered by scientists and child development experts that the early years of a child’s life is the time their brains function like a sponge. They absorb information as if drinking a glass of water.

Before a child reaches kindergarten, he or she should be able to master some complex skill such as:

• Cutting
• Counting
• Measuring
• Pouring
• Reading
• Sounding words out
• And much more

But when you enroll you child in a Jewish education, your child will acquire more skills such as:

• Appreciating Hebrew culture
• Learning Hebrew songs
• Participating in Jewish holidays
• Praying Hebrew prayers
